Destroying Angel

(16mm, 1969, 3:55 minutes)

Out of darkness vague sounds are heard. Light struggles forth to create form.
A world. An animal appears. Things happen. People show up.
Cryptic phrases are heard. Kids are doing stuff.
There's an old telly on a table.
What's going on?
Good question.

This unedited, in-camera film was shot on a single day from morning well into sundown.
I titled the piece after reflecting upon Gollum's riddle as stated to BIlbo,
which begins, "This thing all things devours: Birds. Beasts. Trees.
Flowers." And it's happening all the time.
